The NHL trade deadline is Feb. 27 at 3 p.m.
For the first time in several years, the Toronto Maple Leafs seem to be in a position of perhaps acquiring a player to enhance their playoff hopes.
The Leafs have a lot of needs, mostly they could use a skilled goal scorer.
Isn’t Rick Nash being dangled by the last place Columbus Blue Jacket? What would general manager Brian Burke have to give up to get the 27-year-old Nash?
It’s more or less common knowledge the Leafs are losing interest in Luke Schenn, though he seems to be getting a kick out of the trade deadline frenzy.
The Leafs are probably attracting attention for Mikhail Grabovski, whose contract runs out at the end of the season. He’s looking for a huge raise, so Burke might move him if a deal is attractive enough.
