CFIA expands list of stores where recalled beef burgers sold

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has expanded the list of stores which sold the beef burgers that are being recalled.

The Country Morning beef burgers product has been distributed to co-op and TGP grocery stores in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, North West Territories, Yukon Territories and Nunavut.

The No Name Club Pack beef steakettes product has been distributed by Loblaws to the following stores in Ontario: Cash&Carry/RCWC Ontario Corporate, Extra Foods, Freshmart, Loblaws Great Food, no frills, RCWC West Corporate, Real Canadian Superstore, Value-mart, Your Independent Grocer, Zehrs and Zehrs Great Food.

The following products are affected by the recall:

The manufacturer, New Food Classics, 1122 International Blvd., Suite 601, Burlington, Ont., has voluntarily recalled the affected product from the marketplace.

Food contaminated with E. coli may not look or smell spoiled, but consumption of food contaminated with these bacteria my cause serious and potentially life-threatening illnesses.
