Rangers trade forward Wolski to Panthers

The New York Rangers traded forward Wojtek Wolski to the Florida Panthers in exchange for defenceman Michael Vernace and a third-round pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
The 26-year-old Wolski has been sidelined with sports hernia for most of 2011-12. He has three assists in nine games this season.

Wolski was drafted 21st overall by the Colorado Avalanche in 2004.
On March 3, 2010, the former Brampton Battalion was traded to the Phoenix Coyotes for Peter Mueller and Kevin Porter.
Wolski was acquired by the Rangers on January 10, 2011 for defenceman Michal Rozsival.
Vernace, 25, has spent the majority of his career playing in the American Hockey League. He played 12 games with the Avalanche in 2008-09 and 10 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2010-11.
