Report: Canadiens’ Markov cleared for contact

Despite a dismal season for the Montreal Canadiens, there is some good news.

According to reports, Canadiens defenceman Andrei Markov has been cleared for contact and participated in practice Monday.

The veteran blueliner hasn’t played in a game yet this season and has been out of action since November 2010.

It is also reported that Markov will be on the Canadiens’ Western road trip but does not have a date picked out for when he’ll be back.

Markov has 81 goals and 285 assists in 623 games with the club.br>
