The City of Toronto has cancelled the extreme cold weather alert that it issued on Saturday.
During the alert, the city had encouraged homeless people to seek shelter from the frigid temperatures.
It also opened up 172 more beds, ordered shelters to relax restrictions and handed out TTC tokens so people can get to the centres.
The alert was made when Environment Canada predicted temperatures of -15 C or lower. The agency had predicted a low of -13 C for Saturday night, warning it would feel colder with the wind chill.
By 11 p.m. Saturday, Toronto saw lows around -18 C.
