Duchene out 3-4 weeks with ankle injury

DENVER — Colorado Avalanche forward Matt Duchene is facing his second prolonged injury absence of the season after suffering a right ankle injury.

The NHL team announced Thursday that he’ll be out three to four weeks.

Duchene suffered the injury after tripping over the stick of Minnesota’s Nick Palmieri on Tuesday night. No surgery will be required.

The 21-year-old missed seven weeks with a knee earlier in the year.

He has 13 goals and 26 points in 48 games this season.
