The depleted Toronto Maple Leafs continue to get bitten by the injury bug.
Leafs head coach Randy Carlyle confirmed on Friday that Mike Brown will miss 7-10 days with a contusion to his thigh.
The 26-year-old forward returned on Wednesday from a lower-body injury but was only able to play one shift before crashing into the boards and injuring his thigh.
Brown has two goals, two assists, 60 penalty minutes and a minus-2 rating in only 44 games this season.
The Leafs are already without forward Joffrey Lupul, who will miss 3-4 weeks with a separated shoulder.
In other news, forward Colby Armstrong and defenceman Cody Franson will be available for the Leafs in Saturday night’s contest against the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Leafs currently sit in 12th place in the Eastern Conference and have a 1-2 record since Carlyle replaced Ron Wilson behind the bench.
