Canadiens’ Price diagnosed with concussion

MONTREAL — Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price has been diagnosed with mild concussion and will miss the rest of the season.

The Habs made the announcement Wednesday after the 24-year-old was examined by the team’s physician.

Price has been suffering from headaches since teammate David Desharnais landed on him during a 2-on-1 drill in practice late last week.

He still made his 65th start of the season in a 4-1 road loss to the New York Rangers on Friday night.

Price informed the team of his symptoms Monday.

The Canadiens host the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday night before facing the Hurricanes in Carolina on Thursday.

Backup goalie Peter Budaj will face Tampa Bay after making the start in Saturday’s 3-2 shootout loss in Washington.

The Habs, who sit last in the Eastern Conference with 73 points, finish their disappointing season Saturday night at home against the rival Toronto Maple Leafs.
