Canadian Grammy nominee Brueggergosman pregnant after reconciling with husband

TORONTO – Grammy-nominated Canadian soprano Measha Brueggergosman has announced that she’s pregnant and expecting a baby boy at the end of the summer.

A representative for the 34-year-old Fredericton native, recently seen as a judge on “Canada’s Got Talent,” confirmed the news via email.

The rep also confirmed that Brueggergosman has reconciled with husband Markus Brueggergosman after a brief separation.

The news comes after a turbulent few years for the Juno-winning singer, who released new disc “I’ve Got a Crush On You” in April.

In June 2009, she underwent emergency open-heart surgery to repair a dissection in her aorta.

Later that year came the split with her high-school sweetheart. Though her spokesperson says the couple reconciled in 2011, Brueggergosman endured another personal tragedy last August when she had a miscarriage and lost twins.

She’s currently in Ohio rehearsing for her debut in Gershwin’s “Porgy and Bess” with the Cincinnati Opera, with performances set to run from June 28 to July 8.

Brueggergosman will then take a break from the stage before bringing “Porgy and Bess” to Berlin in September.

“My husband and I are truly blessed and overjoyed,” Brueggergosman said in a release.
