The identity crisis has ended at the Toronto Zoo as a Babriusa piglet, two penguins and three white lions now have names.
The animals were all named by zoo staff and volunteers who then posted them on Facebook where visitors voted.
They are as follows:
White lion cubs: Fintan (Gaelic name meaning “little fair one”); Lemon and Makali (Swahili for “braveness” )
The African penguin male chicks: Chupa and Matata (Swahili for “troublemaker” )
The Babirusa Female Piglet: Muna (Swahili for “hope”)
As always, there was a great response that came with some names that while cute, didn’t make the cut. They include Tuxedo and Icecube for the penguins.
