2 crashes on QEW in Niagara Falls

Two separate crashes on the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) in Niagara Falls sent two people to hospital on Wednesday.

A woman has been airlifted to a hospital after a dump truck hit a bridge on the QEW at Lundy’s Lane in Niagara Falls, the Ontario Provincial Police say.

The victim was transported by an air ambulance to a Hamilton hospital with unknown injuries.

The QEW Fort Erie-bound lanes were briefly closed as well as the ramp from Highway 420 to the QEW. But they have since reopened.

Meanwhile, a truck and a commercial van collided near Thorold Stone Road on Wednesday afternoon.

One driver was air-lifted to hospital.
