Toronto man posts unsettling pics of women online

There’s a man taking unsettling but perfectly legal photos of Toronto women and posting them online, a user on Reddit warned Tuesday.

“This disgusts me so much,” a woman who goes by the username throwawaybew said of another Reddit user, who goes by the name CreeperComforts.

The photos are not “upskirt” or nude photos. Instead, CreeperComforts admits to taking photos of fully-clothed women he finds attractive, especially if they have a “sexy booty.”

“If a person takes a photograph of another person in a public forum, it’s not illegal,” Const. Tony Vella told CityNews.

However, the context of that photograph matters.

“If the photo was taken for a sexual purpose then it is illegal. The question is when and where was it taken, and what was the intent of the photographer,” Vella said.

CreeperComforts wrote in his profile that he always carries a large DSLR camera around his neck. The trick, he says, is to not be sneaky.

“Proof? Try taking a picture on a busy sidewalk and count how many people walk right in front of you,” he writes.

CreeperComforts declined to be interviewed, saying he was being “blackmailed” over the photos and could not comment at this time.

The photos are then posted on a forum on the social news website that contains similar photos of attractive women performing mundane actives. The forum is private.

Comments on the post suggest many of the photos were taken in the Queen and University area, near the University of Toronto.

User throwawaybew is urging Toronto women to be careful and asked men to warn their friends.
