The latest collection from Canadian clothing company Joe Fresh was unveiled during Toronto Fashion Week on Thursday night with models talking the runway at David Pecaut Square.
Creative director Joe Mimran sent out a series of geometric prints in a basic black-and-white palette, with a few pops of colour.
The spring-summer 2013 collection was inspired by the 1960s, Mimran said, but it was a model from the 1970s who opened the show: Pat Cleveland, one of the first African-American models, was greeted with cheers from the crowd.
Joe Fresh, which is owned by Brampton-based Loblaw Companies Ltd. and available at some Loblaws stores, will open almost 700 shops inside American department-store chain jcpenney next year.
Fashion Week wraps up Friday night.
