Nestle recalls 5 varieties of Buitoni pizzas over possible metal contamination

Nestle Canada is recalling five varieties of the Buitoni brand of pizzas because they may contain pieces of metal.

The pizzas are a product of Germany and have been distributed across Canada.

The recalled pizzas are Buitoni Funghi Rustico, Buitoni Margherita, Buitoni Pepperoni Diavolo, Buitoni Pollo Toscano and Buitoni Spinaci Fresca.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) says there have been no reported consumer complaints about them in Canada.

But at least two complaints have been reported in Europe, according to just-food.com.

The agency says it’s monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.

Meanwhile, the CFIA issued a warning for Golden Boy brand Inshell Mixed Nuts, because they may be contaminated with salmonella.

The affected product is sold in 1.36 kg (3 lb) mesh bags bearing UPC 0 4684 10948 0.

This product has been distributed nationally.

No illnesses have been reported, the agency said.
