Canada and the United States have issued a joint recall for two Bugaboo stroller models, the Cameleon (sp) and the Donkey, because of problems with the carry handle.
The handle could detach when the pram body is placed on the ground, causing a fall and a choking hazard.
No injuries have been reported, but Bugaboo International has received 58 complaints.
The company warns that when the pram is placed on the ground or another surface, the white button on the carry handle may pop out, causing the handle to detach.
Customers should immediately remove the carry handle and contact Bugaboo for a free replace carry handle.
Approximately 3,869 units of the Cameleon model were sold in Canada and 38,653 were sold in the United States. Approximately 576 units of the Donkey model were sold in Canada and 7,703 were sold in the United States.
Health Canada has also issued a recall for a separate baby carrier, the Bumbleride carrycot.
The bassinet has collapsible fabric sides and flexible straps and is compatible with various Bumbleride stroller units.
The straps could fall into the carrier, Health Canada warns, and babies could become tangled in the straps.
The following model names and numbers are affected:
- Bumbleride Carrycot (CC-10);
- Indie Carrycot (CN-75);
- Indie Twin Carrycot (CC-25)
Approximately 805 units of the recalled bassinets were sold in Canada. No injuries have been reported.
