Reports of gunman at MIT unfounded: police

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology was in lockdown Saturday morning after authorities received reports of an armed gunman on campus.
Cambridge police were notified that a person with a long rifle and body armour was spotted in the Main Group Building, according to a notification on the school’s website.
A shelter in place was enforced.
After searching the campus, police say reports of gunman are unfounded and there was no threat to public safety.
