University subway line shut down Sunday

The University subway line will be shut down on Sunday to modernize signalling equipment installed when the route opened 50 years ago.

Starting Saturday night at midnight, trains will turn back at St. George and Union stations while crews work on signals, relays and wiring and cabling.

To serve TTC passengers, shuttle buses will run every three to five minutes, and the TTC will also station Wheel-Trans buses at Bathurst, Eglinton West and Union stations.

Regular service will resume on Monday at 6 a.m.
