TORONTO – The Canadian dollar closed at 97.46 cents U-S, up three-100ths from Friday’s close.

The S-and-P/T-S-X composite index advanced 20.09 points to 12,878.58.

Volume at 4:15 p.m. E-T was 363.4 (m) million shares.

The Dow Jones industrial average closed at another record high for a six straight trading day.

The Dow was up 2.77 points at 14,450.06.

In the New York Mercantile Exchange, the gold futures price for April contract was 13 dollars, 70 cents U-S to 1,591 dollars, 70 cents an ounce.

The crude contract closed at 48 cents U-S to 92 dollars, 54 cents per barrel.
