Westbound Hwy. 407 closed near Bathurst following fatal dump-truck crash

A section of the westbound Highway 407 was closed for several hours Saturday morning after a fatal crash near Bathurst Street.

Police say they got a call to the location just before 8 a.m. Saturday.

OPP Constable Lisa McIntyre says it happened in the westbound lanes near Bathurst Street and involved only one vehicle – a dump truck.

“For unkown reasons at this time the vehicle lost control, it struck the centre concrete barrier and then struck a light standard,” McIntrye said.

Police say the male driver – the only person in the truck – was killed.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is being asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
