Summer part 2? More of the same

If you loved last summer’s hot and steamy conditions, then this summer has been a bit of a let down. It hasn’t been as hot or as humid, and there’s also been a bit more rain.
So what about the rest of the summer?
David Phillips is the senior climatologist with Environment Canada and he told 680News that the rest of the summer will likely be the same.
However, he said that the average temperature this summer has been almost a full degree warmer than normal.
This year, there have been 18 days that that were 30 C and warmer.
“When you get this kind of summer, when it’s a little bit warmer than normal, we think it’s the Ice Age cometh,” Phillips said.
There were 25 rainy days in June and July this year. Last year, there were 23. There was 28 millimetres more rain between May and July compared to last year, not taking into account the July 8 flood.
And in terms of smog, this year Toronto has only have two smog days so far. At the same time last year, the city had 12.
