Man dies after car crashes into tree

A 25-year-old man has died in hospital after his car crashed into a tree in Etobicoke, Toronto police confirm.
Around 3 a.m. Saturday, the man was driving east on Steeles Avenue, near Islington, when he lost control, crossed into the westbound lanes, mounted the curb and hit a tree.
Paramedics took him to Sunnybrook hospital in critical condition and he died soon after.
He was the only one in the car at the time.
The traffic services unit is investigating.
