Man, 2 youths charged with first-degree murder in west-end shooting

A 19-year-old man and two young offenders have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with a fatal west-end shooting.

Yousif Ahmed, 21, was killed in broad daylight on Monday.

Ahmed was shot outside an apartment building on Albion Road near Weston Road just after 3 p.m. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say the shooting was targeted and several men were seen arguing with the victim before multiple shots were fired.

Emmanuel Ansah, 19, and two persons, who cannot be identified because of their age, appeared in court on Tuesday and were officially charged.

This was the second fatal shooting to happen in broad daylight in the city in a week. Last Monday, Chris Kotsopoulos was shot and killed after a fight broke out at a Swansea Mews housing complex. In both cases, young children were among the witnesses.
