The man who sent out a tweet saying he was looking for a spliff – a message that was picked up by York Regional Police – has reportedly been fired from his job.
Sunith Baheerathan, who tweets under the handle @Sunith_DB8R, sparked a viral sensation on Tuesday when he wrote “Any dealers in Vaughan wanna make a 20sac chop? Come to Keele/Langstaff Mr. Lube, need a spliff.”
After police saw the message, his next paycheque apparently went up in smoke, according to messages posted on his Twitter timeline.
Twitter user @TJ_Meehan wrote “They’re too scared to take down the #Mafia so they try to get someone fired. Disgusting.”
“Not tried.. Did. Just got the call of termination,” Baheerathan responded.
Later, he had this to say:
“SMH”, for green Twitter users, can mean “shaking my head.”
Baheerathan did not respond to a request for comment, instead retweeting similar messages from CityNews and other news organizations.
What do you think? Should he have been let go? Have your say in the comments.
