Search at Millard farm continues for 2nd day

Toronto police are searching the Waterloo–area farm belonging to accused killer Dellen Millard for a second day.

Const. Wendy Drummond said that officers would return to the Ayr property on Tuesday.

A forensics team arrived at the farm Monday morning, moving in and out of the barn on the farm wearing face masks, white lab coats and gloves.

Police said new information relating to ongoing investigations into the disappearance of Laura Babcock, and the 2012 death of Wayne Millard, Dellen’s father, led them to the farm.

“We’re not saying what it is that we’re there for this time, but these are the two cases that we have been working on, so it’s going to be one of those things,” Const. Victor Kwong told 680News.

“It has always been known that the two Toronto cases had always been in relation to a missing woman, and into the death of Wayne Millard.”

Previous searches at the property didn’t turned up any evidence connected to Babcock who was “romantically linked” to Millard. Babcock, 23, was last seen on June 26, 2012, in Toronto’s Queen Street West and Roncesvalles Avenue area around 9 p.m.

Wayne Millard died Nov. 29, 2012, of an apparent suicide, but the case was reopened following his son’s murder charge in the death of Hamilton man, Tim Bosma.

Millard faces first-degree murder in the death of Bosma. Mark Smich, 25, also faces first-degree murder in Bosma’s death.

Bosma, 32, disappeared on May 6 after taking two men on a test drive of his pickup truck. His burned remains were later discovered in the Waterloo Region.
