2 women struck by vehicle near Avenue and Lawrence

Two women are in hospital after they were struck by a vehicle on Avenue Road near Lawrence Avenue West.
Police tell CityNews the victims, one 66-years-old and the other 46-years-old, suffered very serious injuries.
Emergency crews were called to the scene around 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The Allenby Parents’ Association has identified the victims as Kirsten Gold and Mary Marshall, teachers at Allenby Junior Public School.
The driver of the vehicle was also sent to hospital with unknown injuries, according to 680News.
Avenue Road has been closed from Glengrove to Glencairn avenues while police investigate.
There has been no word on whether charges will be laid.
