Man wanted in Project Quell guns-and-gangs roundup arrested

Toronto police have arrested another suspect after releasing the names of eight men wanted in a recent guns-and-gangs roundup.

Bismark Barrett, 22, was arrested Monday and charged with three counts of trafficking cocaine and participating in a criminal organization.

On Oct. 4, police laid hundreds of charges in connection with two major investigations that they believe will do some serious damage to gang activity in Toronto.

Project Brazen and Project Quell were launched by officers in Scarborough after an increase in the number of shootings involving two rival gangs, the Galloway Boys gang and the Orton Park gang.

Members of the gangs have allegedly been involved in a violent turf war over drugs in recent years.

The six people still at large are:
• Sedonick Atkins, 21
• Devon Brumble, 20
• Micheil Davy, 23
• Ernesto Gayle, 36
• Tyrrell Turner, 21
• Orane West, 30
