Crews battle Eglinton & Mount Pleasant house fire

Firefighters were called to a semi-detached home near Eglinton Avenue and Mount Pleasant Road early Thursday morning.
The massive fire began on Elvina Gardens around 5:30 a.m.
The fire began in one side of the home that was without power and spread to the other side through the roof. The second side did have power. Damage to both sides of the home is extensive.
Neighbouring homes have been evacuated and residents are taking shelter on TTC buses.
It’s not yet known how the fire began or the cost of the damage.
No injuries have been reported.
The 103 Mt Pleasant North bus was on diversion to avoid the area but has since resumed regular service.
