Mayor Ford visits Toronto Hydro workers, thanks them for hard work

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford was up early Sunday morning visiting Toronto Hydro workers as they finished a long overnight shift.

Ford tweeted that he made the visit to thank crews for their hard work helping to restore power to tens of thousands of customers affected by an epic ice storm.

Ford later visited Toronto Fire and Toronto EMS headquarters to thank staff.

Toronto Hydro says 7,400 customers are still waiting for their power to be restored.

In the meantime, the agency warned in a tweet that more challenges could lay ahead.

Ford will provide updated numbers on the storm recovery efforts today at 11 a.m. CityNews will be live streaming the event.
