Canadian Drake to host & perform on ‘SNL’ Saturday

Is there anything Drake can’t do?

From bringing international soccer stars to Toronto to supporting the struggling Raptors to, occasionally, breaking Billboard records, the Canadian rapper is now set to host and perform on Saturday Night Live.

In a video promoting Saturday’s upcoming episode, Drake jokes with SNL cast member Bobby Moynihan about his time on Degrassi: The Next Generation. Drake, then credited as Aubrey Graham, appeared on the teen soap opera from 2001 to 2009.

The promo also featured Jay Pharaoh and Moynihan acting like Drake fan girls.

Drake has appeared on Saturday Night Live before — he was the musical guest for host Anna Faris in 2011 — but this is his first time pulling double duty.

SNL’s newest cast member Sasheer Zamata will make her debut on Saturday. Zamata is the first black female cast member since Bridesmaids star Maya Rudolph left in 2007.
