Asteroid to safely pass Earth on Wednesday

An asteroid the size of the one that blew up over Russia in 2013 will pass between the Earth and the moon on Wednesday.

The asteroid, 2014 DX110, will come within 350,000 kilometres of Earth.

The fly by will happen at around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, but according to experts, there is no chance of a collision with Earth.

The asteroid is reported to be 18 x 42 metres wide. The one that broke apart 30 kilometres above Chelyabinsk, Russia, on Feb. 15, 2013, was also estimated at 18 metres in width.
