Mayor Ford approached about reality show: report

A U.S. production company has approached Mayor Rob Ford about creating a reality TV show, according to a published report.

The Globe and Mail reported that Ford was contacted by Pilgrim Studios, which produces American Chopper and Wicked Tuna, during a visit to Los Angeles last month. The mayor was there to appear on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show.

The report cited an email from a studio executive to the mayor’s spokesman Amin Massoudi. But Ford’s chief of staff told the paper Friday he didn’t know about the request and didn’t know if a meeting occurred.

Ford’s brother Doug has said he and the mayor have been contacted by production houses in the U.S. about doing a reality show — ”everyone from Oprah to Dr. Phil.”

The mayor has been in the spotlight ever since he admitted to smoking crack while in office during one of his drunken stupors.
