Lookback: 2004 interview with ‘godfather of soul’ James Brown

The James Brown biopic, Get on Up, which debuts in theatres on Friday, portrays the life of one on music most charismatic performers. But, what was the “godfather of soul” really like? Music reporter Rudy Blair spoke with Brown years before he died, when he performed at Casino Rama in 2004.
