Christmas postal shipping deadlines approaching

The deadline to ensure your Christmas cards and packages get to their destination on time is quickly approaching.

The deadline for local delivery for cards via Canada Post is Dec. 19.

Canada Post published the rest of the deadlines on its website. They are:

Cards
Local delivery: Dec. 19
Within province: Dec. 18
Outside province: Dec. 17

Packages     
Priority (rush): Dec. 23
Xpresspost (fast): Dec. 22
Regular Parcel (most economical): Dec. 11

Meanwhile, Purolator has announced that Cyber Monday and Dec. 17 are the busiest shipping dates, with an estimated 1.2-million packages to be shipped.

Purolator also released the shipping deadlines on its website. They are:

Canada, next-day delivery (where available): Dec. 23
United States, next-day delivery (where available): Dec. 22
United States via Purolator Ground: Dec. 12
Mexico, Caribbean, South and Central America: Dec. 17
Western Europe, including the United Kingdom, France and Germany: Dec. 18
Australia: Dec. 18
Far East, including China, Japan and Thailand: Dec. 17
Other international destinations (e.g., Eastern Europe, Africa, South Asia, the Middle East): Dec. 12
