The OLG’s new online lottery system has only been up for two days but has already got off to a bit of a bumpy start and saw many users taking to social media to complain about the service.
To register, customers must enter all the information exactly how it appears on their government identification, which ensures residents of Ontario can log in. It is also supposed to guard against anonymous play and protect against the use of the site by underage gamblers.
However, these steps had many users complaining that the process takes too much time.
In a statement to CityNews, OLG said “Demand for PlayOLG customer service is very high at this time, especially being the first weekend since Thursday’s launch. We appreciate everyone’s patience at this time… the PlayOLG registration and verification process is very robust.”
But the complaints aren’t deterring all gambling enthusiasts. Some who traditionally visit kiosks to buy or check their tickets say despite the glitches, they’re open to trying it.
