Body found behind Mississauga night club

Peel police are investigating a suspicious death after a body was found behind a night club in Mississauga Monday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at a parking lot behind Sugar Daddy’s night club in the Eglinton Avenue East and Dixie Road area around 2 p.m.

Police said the man, believed to be in his 20s, was found frozen behind a night club. The victim suffered some sort of head trauma but police said they have yet to determine if it was caused by a fall or if foul play was involved.

“He has suffered some sort of head trauma but it is not known at this time whether it was inflicted by a fall or if someone else inflicted that, so the death, at this point, is deemed suspicious in nature,” Const. Fiona Thivierge said.

Investigators will also consider if weather was a factor in the death.

“We’ll be looking at a number of things, whether or not the weather itself caused the death, the injury to the head caused the death and how that injury occurred,” Thivierge said.

Police are asking businesses in the area to bring forward any surveillance footage which may have caught the events leading up to the man’s death on tape. They are also asking anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area over the last few days to contact police.

“Because we don’t know exactly when this male party ended up at this location, I would suggest anybody who has been in this area at all, at the rear of this plaza, who’s seen anything suspicious, for them to call,” Thivierge said.

Police have yet to identify the victim.
