Central Technical School will be getting a new domed sports field after all.
Following months of opposition and negotiations, a deal was reached between the TDSB, city councillors, and various community groups on a field for the school at Harbord and Bathurst streets.
The $6 million dollar project was approved after mediation by the Ontario Municipal Board and will feature a state-of-the-art turf field, running track, and dome for the winter months.
The agreement also allows for public permit use during non-school hours.
Central Tech has been without a home field since late 2013.
It will take about six months to build the dome — which could be ready for the school’s 100th anniversary in the spring of 2016.
