Police ID man killed in Danforth shooting

Toronto police have identified a man shot and killed in the east end earlier this week.
Abdiweli Mohamed Yusuf, 21, died in hospital after he was shot Tuesday morning at Rotana Cafe on Danforth Avenue, near Coxwell.
An autopsy confirmed the cause of death was a gunshot wound.
Police say they’ve spoken to several witnesses, but are still hoping more will come forward. It wasn’t immediately clear why Yusuf had been targeted.
The hookah lounge was also the site of a random murder in 2013. Off-duty Markham firefighter Dominic Parker, 45, was stabbed several times as he sat inside with friends.
A 23-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in that case.
