1 dead in tractor-trailer crash on Hwy. 401 in Port Hope

A 44-year-old Brighton man is dead after a two tractor-trailers crashed on Highway 401 in Port Hope.
It happened in the westbound lanes of the 401, west of Wesleyville, shortly before 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
Ontario Provincial Police said one of the drivers was pronounced dead at the scene. The man’s name is being withheld until next of kin has been notified.
There has been no word on what caused the crash.
Police continue to investigate.
All westbound lanes of the 401 at the Wesleyville exit remain closed until further notice.
