Man dies after being struck by vehicle near Danforth and Donlands

A man believed to be in his 30s or 40s has died after being struck by a vehicle near Danforth and Donlands avenues.
Witnesses tell CityNews the man had attended the Madinah Masjid mosque on Danforth for Friday prayers and was sitting outside on a curb using his phone when a van backed into him.
Police say the driver initially left the scene, but later returned and is now in custody.
Criminal charges have been laid but police are not revealing what exactly they are.
Friends of the victim say his name was Ibrahim — a construction worker who moved to Canada from India about 10 years ago.
