Conor Colangelo, 24, of Toronto, is expected to appear in court on Wednesday for a bail hearing.
Neighbours told 680 NEWS a family with three sons lives at the home.
One of the sons was taken in police custody for questioning, but it’s not clear if that is the person charged.
Reports say the victim was a friend of one of the adult sons who lives in the home. They were reportedly playing with a gun when the son accidentally shot his friend.
