Centre Island ferries increase capacity in time for summer

By News Staff

It’s one of the most popular summer destinations in the city, with one of the most beautiful views of the downtown skyline, and now, just in time for summer, more people will be able to ride the Centre Island ferries.

The City of Toronto announced on Monday that effective immediately the ferries will be back to carrying 950 passengers each, adding up to 5,000 people per hour.

Previously the ferries carried 750 people, or 3,700 per hour.

This year Centreville marks its 50th year of operation.

The iconic theme park hosts more than 30 rides and attractions, as well as a variety of mouth-watering treats.
