Google has made tracking earthquakes in real time much easier.
The online search engine says users will now be able to type “earthquake” in the search bar to immediately get a visual map of affected areas, as well as the magnitude of the quake, the epicenter, and any landmarks.
The query will also include a shakemap, which displays the intensity of the quake in different areas.
Previously, people had to search for information on the strength and epicentre of an earthquake on the U.S. Geological Survey website. Google’s app now pulls that information from the USGS, usually between a few minutes and within a half hour of events happening.
