Sandro Lisi ‘crack’ video extortion case back in court July 19

A former associate of the late former mayor Rob Ford will be back in court next Tuesday for pre-trial.

Alexander ‘Sandro’ Lisi, Ford’s former driver and friend, is charged with extortion. He is accused of threatening Liban Siyad with violence in an attempt to obtain the infamous video of Ford smoking crack.

Ford did not testify or give a police statement, and died of cancer on March 22.

Siyad, who is already in jail on drug and gun charges, also refused to testify at the preliminary hearing.

Lisi was initially charged with two counts of extortion for calls he allegedly made to Siyad and Mohamed Siad in an attempt to retrieve the video. The charge involving Siad was dropped.

Lisi was previously found not guilty of previous drug charges.
