Trending: Masked bride leaving mysterious notes around Toronto

By News Staff

A woman dressed in a bridal gown, and wearing a mask, has confounded residents who have spotted her writing and leaving mysterious notes around the city.

People have posted photos and videos of the woman on social media, and many have speculated the woman may be staging performance art with undertones of domestic violence and alcohol abuse.

Last night, Ryerson University student Robert Wharry was shooting a short doc near the Princess of Wales Theatre when he saw the masked bride sit down and start writing a note.

He started filming the woman, who got up and walked away about 20 minutes later and left a letter behind.

“To Whom It May Concern,” it begins.

“I would have loved you forever. Been your partner through life’s many ups and downs.”

It continues on the topic of love, noting, “We must love ourselves before we can truly love anyone else and I am truly hungry, mon amour.”

And it ends with a metaphor: “The lotus pushes through the mud and darkness — so can you. Shake off this fairweathered [sic] friend called alcohol 2 live. I love you.”

“It was a very intense, kind of love, hate, passion letter,” Wharry said.

“They’re so intimate and personal but they’re addressed ‘To Whom It May Concern.’”

Other notes, which appear to address the bride’s former love, have reportedly referred to drugs and sexual abuse.

Some have questioned whether more than one woman have been been part of the act.
