SIU probing three-car crash near Portland and Adelaide

The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is probing a three-vehicle crash in downtown Toronto.

The crash sent two men to hospital with minor injuries.

The collision happened on Portland Street between Richmond and Adelaide streets around 3:20 a.m. on Friday.

The front end of two of the vehicles have major damage. The third vehicle ended up on its roof.

It appears one driver struck a parked car. The two men who were hurt were in the moving car.

No charges have been laid.

Toronto police said their officers were in the area around 2:50 a.m., but would not be making further comment.

The SIU is an arm’s-length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
