Man surrenders to police in connection with fatal Weston Road stabbing

A 24-year-old man wanted in connection with a fatal stabbing on Weston Road has turned himself in to police.

Demetrius McFarquhar surrendered to police on Tuesday morning.

He was wanted for accessory after the fact in the death of David Blacquiere, 54, who was stabbed in the chest a number of times shortly before noon on Nov. 14.

A Canada-wide warrant remains in place for 18-year-old Christopher Enrique Gordon.

Police believe Gordon and Blacquiere had driven together into the parking lot at 1995 Weston Rd. and got into a verbal fight just before the stabbing.

Gordon, also known as “Mikey” and “Lefty,” is known to police. He’s from Barrie and was staying in Toronto at the time of the murder.

It’s alleged that McFarquhar helped Gordon escape from the crime scene and from a building at 2222 Weston Rd., where Gordon was last seen.

McFarquhar has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder, attempting to obstruct justice and fail to comply recognizance.
