1 man killed in Oakville shooting

A man is dead following a shooting in Oakville.

Halton Regional Police say they were called to the area of Sixth Line and Dundas Street East around 7 p.m. Sunday night following reports of gunfire.

Upon arriving, they discovered a man with gunshot wounds in a vehicle. He was eventually pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel.

The homicide unit has been called in to take over the investigation.

Police say there is no threat to the public but have not released any suspect description.

The victim has not been identified at this time.

Police are asking anyone in the area of North Park Blvd and Sawmill Road, who have security cameras and may have information about the shooting, to the homicide tip line at 905-825-4776.
