Police release video of truck involved in Eglinton West hit-and-run

A 50-year-old female pedestrian is dead after after being struck by a vehicle in the Eglinton West area.

Police responded to a call at Dufferin Street and Briar Hill Avenue near Eglinton Avenue West around 3 p.m. Monday.

The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a trauma centre. She later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead in hospital.

The driver and vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene.

Police say the driver is a white man in his 30s wearing a construction vest. They are looking for a grey Dodge Ram truck.

Security images and video of the vehicle were released on Tuesday and are seeking more video.

Police are asking for anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to come forward — specifically from northbound and southbound Dufferin Street on Monday between 2:45 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

They are also asking anyone who may have security footage recorded on Monday from Stayner Avenue, Locksley Avenue, Risa Boulevard, Times Road and Briar Hill Avenue to contact them.
