Canadian synchro team captures silver at world trampoline championships

By The Canadian Press

ST. PETERSBURG, Russia – Canada’s Rosie MacLennan and Sarah Milette teamed up to win silver in the women’s synchronized event at the world trampoline championships on Friday.

It was the second medal in as many days for MacLennan, of King City, Ont., and Milette, of Longueuil, Que. They helped Canada win bronze in the team event on Thursday.

“It went really well today,” said MacLennan, a two-time Olympic champion. “I think we were really focused on trying to stay in the middle, stay high, stay clean, and obviously stay together. We’re a pretty new synchro team, so I think when we go home, we’re going to start thinking about other routines we might try and we’ll see what happens.”

Japan’s Hikaru Mori and Megu Uyama won gold. Melissa Flores and Dafne Navarro Loza of Mexico captured bronze.

The women’s individual event is Saturday.
