Pedestrian struck by multiple vehicles, officers injured in Scarborough collisions

A 49-year-old pedestrian remains in hospital with critical injuries after he was struck by multiple vehicles in Scarborough Monday night.
A police officer was also injured when his cruiser was hit by another vehicle at the same scene.
Police responded to a call for a collision in area of Warden and McNicoll avenues around 7:45 p.m.
Witnesses told police a man was struck by two or possibly three vehicles.
It’s believed the man was initially struck by a Honda. He was then hit by a second vehicle, which remained at the scene. The pedestrian was then struck by a third vehicle that fled the scene. That vehicle is believed to be an older model grey or silver Toyota Camry.
The Honda is described as light coloured, with significant damage to the front end.
Approximately an hour after the pedestrian was struck, a police cruiser was T-boned by another vehicle while officers were on scene investigating.
Police said a GMC Envoy van drove through the closure and struck the cruiser.
Two officers were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported in that collision.
The 19-year-old driver of the van, who police said had no licence, was arrested and is facing numerous charges including impaired driving.
Warden Avenue is closed in both directions from McNicoll Avenue to Bridletowne Circle.
